Dear Family Medicine colleague,
If you are a practicing family physician in Alberta, you know just as well as the rest of us do that the current crisis in healthcare in Alberta has reached staggering new levels. We continue to lack the supports we so desperately need to keep our clinics adequately staffed and running in order to properly serve Albertans across this province.
Despite many attempts to relay these concerns, we are faced with a government who refuses to support us with the necessary funding to stabilize primary care as it is best provided - by Family Physician specialists.
The United Family Physicians of Alberta (UFPA) is a group of family physicians practicing in Alberta that was created out of this frustration, with the goal of organizing the family physician body of this province so that we can realize and implement the power of our solidarity. We hope to improve our working conditions so we can better serve our patients, and we hope that you will consider joining us in this endeavour. We hope to unite our speciality and collaborate in order to help make positive and efficient changes to our healthcare system.
Please consider joining us by submitting the form below.
You can also look up the “United Family Physicians of Alberta (UFPA)” Facebook group, (https://www.facebook.com/groups/abfamdocs) and answer the few short questions to gain access to the group (name on CPSA website to confirm FP status) where you’ll receive updates and can participate in the general discussion.
